Valentine's - Top Food Picks for Glasgow


With Valentine's day coming up it's nice to treat yourself and go out for a nice meal with your loved one. Below are some menu's and idea's on where to go for a romantic evening.

After being with my hubby for over 10 years valentine's isn't really celebrated much by us (my choice) but looking at these menu's I may need to re-think as these look delish!  I have a few different options for you today and may also do an Edinburgh post aswell so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Valentine’s Early Bird Menu

Starters:

Soup du jour
Smooth parfait of chicken livers with date and onion chutney and oatcakes
Gem salad with granny smith apple, blue Monday cheese and carmalied almonds

Main:

Grilled fillet of salmon, horseradish mash, chive and pea fish cream
Peppered breast of chicken, sesame and honey gravy with stick rice
Spiced ratatouille and goat’s cheese puff pastry tast, with pesto cream and watercress

Desserts:

Mulled cheedar onion relish and oatcakes
Honeycomb ice cream with chocolate sauce
Passion fruit crème brulee

Roast red pepper and cherry tomato soup with sweet basic oil
Smoother parfait of chicken liver and apple & pear chutney and warm cinnamon fruit loaf
Hot smoked salmon and prawns, citrus crème fraiche and rocket
Feta, peach and caramelised almond salad with pommery mustard dressing

Mains:

Breast of duck oyster mushroom, honey and roast sesame gravy with sticky rice
Crisp fried filter of seabass on Caesar salad with lemon and garlic croutons
Sirloin of mature scotch beef with button mushrooms & skinny fries
Spice ratatouille and goat’s cheese puff pastry tart, with pesto cream and watercress

Desserts:

Artisan cheese board to share, with quince jelly and soft fruits
Passion fruit crème brulee with lavender shortbread
Sticky toffee pudding with warmed butterscotch sauce ad Madagascar vanilla ice cream

Asparagus and leek soup with parmesan croutons
6 freshly chucked oysters with red wine and shallot vinegar (twelve to share)

Braised shank of lamb with rosemary mash, roasted vegetables and gravy
